About Michael
Michael Vonlanthen
The solopreneur behind miosu, an AI-first company. Sparring partner for leadership teams — and the person who then builds the solution.
I work at the interface between business and technology. In practice that means I spend more time understanding business models, decision paths and the concerns of employees than talking about models and platforms.
miosu Oy, based in Helsinki, is deliberately built as a one-person company and works remotely. What a team delivers in a traditional consultancy, I deliver AI-first — and where specialist knowledge is needed, I work with selected solopreneurs from Switzerland and Finland rather than building capacity you would end up paying for.
That order is not a quirk. It comes from seeing technically sound solutions fail because nobody had established which problem they solve and who owns them day to day. And from the reverse: even simple applications create considerable impact once they sit in the right place and people carry them.
I work across the full span: from strategy through architecture to the built solution. Concepts nobody implements help nobody, so I build solutions myself as well, above all in the Microsoft environment with Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry and Microsoft Fabric. As a sparring partner I disagree when it is warranted, including when the honest answer is that no solution is needed at all.
Part of that is sharing what I know. Your team should end up able to do what I do; building knowledge is a stated goal of the engagement rather than a by-product of it. Clients and partners are people I grow with — which is also why I work with fellow solopreneurs rather than subcontractors.
I work remotely across Switzerland, Germany and Finland, in German, English and Finnish. The markets differ in pace and regulation, but the underlying question is the same everywhere: where does AI create real value, and how do we bring people with us?
Values
What shapes how I work
Three values that should be visible in every engagement — and that you are welcome to hold me to.
-
Trust
Confidentiality is a given, and so is an honest answer even when it is inconvenient. If an initiative does not make sense to me, I say so.
-
Passion
I work in this field because it genuinely changes how work is done. That curiosity shows in the care I take to understand a business — and in how readily I pass on what I learn.
-
Enablement
Holding knowledge back would be a business model, but a poor one. I share methods and experience openly so your team can decide for itself. Growing together is the purpose of the engagement, not a side effect.
-
Reliability
Commitments hold. Dates hold. Material is prepared. Anyone advising leadership teams has to be predictable in these things.
